About KYRC-2017

Theme of the Conference

In the light of this theme, the conference aims at providing a platform for critical analysis of latest cutting-edge research findings and results about all aspects regarding advances in electrochemistry. Lectures by renowned personalities, poster presentations on the most recent techniques, tactics, and the newest updates in fields are hallmarks of this conference.

Kalam’s Young Researchers Conference is jointly organised by Research Scholars Forum and Researcher’s Alumni Association of CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, India. The platform is initiated to mark the birth anniversary of India’s former President and great scientist, Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and to move a step further in realizing his vision. The conference is exclusively committed to bring together graduate students and researchers from across the world with a motto to assimilate scientific knowledge and techniques for a better tomorrow.

About CSIR-CECRI

CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), a global R&D platform for innovation in electrochemical science and technology, took roots in the patriotic fervour of Dr. RM. Alagappa Chettiar, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Shanthi Swarup Bhatnagar in July 1948. At present, the institute is the largest research establishment for electrochemistry in South Asia. Headquartered at Karaikudi in the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, CSIR-CECRI has extension centers in Chennai, Mandapam and Tuticorin. It is a publicly funded organization which strives for scientific excellence and societal benefits. CSIR-CECRI is a recipient of several technology awards for its telling service to both Indian and Global industries.  This R&D center for electrochemical science and technology through sustained and dedicated efforts focuses on corrosion science and engineering, energy conversion and storage, functional materials, electrochemical materials science, electrochemical pollution control, fundamental electrochemistry, electro-metallurgy, industrial metal finishing, bio-electrochemical synthesis and electrosynthesis. It serves as a launching pad for a multitude of technologies for the Indian electrochemical industry.
